A practice built around direct contact

Justin Meeks opened Meeks Personal Injury Law so the person with the legal problem could speak with the lawyer handling it.

When you send a message, Justin reads it. When the firm calls you back, he is the person on the phone. He learns the facts, explains your options, handles the claim, and stays responsible for the work as it moves forward.

The firm is based in Kennesaw and serves injured people across Georgia. Most of the firm's work involves car wrecks, including drivers, passengers, motorcycle riders, and police officers injured while on duty. Justin also handles wrongful death, trucking, and premises liability claims.

Practicing in Georgia since 2007

Justin was admitted to the Georgia bar in 2007. Before opening his own firm, he practiced at firms in Marietta and Atlanta.

From 2007 to 2014, he worked as an associate at a Marietta firm handling general civil litigation and starting the firm's personal injury practice. From 2014 to 2023, he was a senior attorney at an Atlanta firm, where most of his practice was devoted to personal injury. From 2023 to 2026, he was a partner at a Marietta firm, where his practice was devoted solely to personal injury.

That work shaped the focus of his own firm. A car wreck claim can look straightforward until insurance coverage, medical bills, or a medical lien changes the amount a client may keep. A police officer injured in a car wreck while on duty has a claim against the at-fault driver, while workers' compensation has a lien against their personal injury settlement. Justin handles the personal injury claim and the workers' compensation lien.

His roles changed as his practice grew. He moved from associate to senior attorney and then partner before starting Meeks Personal Injury Law. Along the way, he handled a variety of civil cases, trained and mentored other lawyers, and built a caseload centered on motor vehicle claims. The firm gives him a direct relationship with every person he represents.

Finance before law

Justin earned his BBA in Finance from Kennesaw State University in 2003, graduating magna cum laude with a minor in Business Law. He earned his JD from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2007. While in law school, he served as the Technical Editor for the Florida Coastal Law Review.

Studying finance before law school gave him the ability to thoroughly analyze insurance coverage, liens, and the full value of each claim. The headline settlement figure is not the same as the client's net recovery. Insurance coverage, liens, attorney's fees, and case expenses all affect what remains. Justin discusses each issue with a client when considering a settlement offer.

His law review article, Can a Search Warrant that is Particular Upon Issuance Lose its Particularity Upon Execution?, was published in 2008 in Volume 9, Page 237 of the Florida Coastal Law Review. He was co-counsel for the Petitioner in the Georgia Court of Appeals case, Hooks v. McCondichie Properties 1, LP, 330 Ga. App. 583 (2015).

Georgia roots

Justin grew up in Douglasville and graduated from Youth Christian School in Powder Springs. He has lived in Kennesaw since 2009. His connection to the area is personal, but the firm's service area is statewide.

He attends West Ridge Church in Dallas, Georgia with his fiancée, Karina, and they both serve in the church's Hispanic ministry. He is an avid CrossFitter, and he remains hopeful that the Falcons will win a title during his lifetime.

Courts and professional memberships

Justin is admitted in all Georgia trial courts, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Cobb County Bar Association.

The consultation is free and by phone. If Justin is in a deposition or cannot answer, the firm's live answering service takes the call and forwards it or takes a message.
